The Legend

The Legend is Sage Joch’s theme, and it’s precisely the sort of track you’d find at moments like this.  It has an inspiring tone that fits with the transition from the middle to late game, accompanied by some nifty stereo effects on the synths.  This is one of the many tracks on the Super Nintendo version that’s diminished by the lack of better instrument patches.  That was my hope for the remake, which doesn’t start out bad, but is itself diminished by some strange digital effects that are out of character for what is needed here.  The Super Nintendo had an introspective quality that flowed with the melody that’s missed.
