This gorgeous, haunting tune is the Pure Land’s theme, appropriately executed with minimalist purity. Also, it’s undoubtedly one of the remake’s most successful efforts with an evocative viola playing the top line against a dramatically layered string accompaniment.  There are fitting shifts in color, often with the chord changes, eventually giving way to a subdued clearing topped by an improvisatory piano.  A striking achievement for the remaster team.
