I Won’t Forget

This is the “sad” version of the main theme, with a flute carrying the melody over a simple, warm electric piano accompaniment. In the second verse, strings join and stay there for as long as the player needs to hear this track. I Won’t Forget sounds more like Chrono Trigger than anything until Chrono Trigger, possibly Chrono Trigger itself.  

Then there’s the remake. It starts out well enough with a simple keyboard arrangement. The timbre is a bit strange, but it works. And then from there, it sounds like an undergraduate music technology student messing with a Yamaha CVP running through Sibelius, in the lab during their lunch break. It’s amusing, but this approach doesn’t work on an emotive track like this.
