Did You See the Ocean?

This is an in-game remix of “Into the Thick of It.” It removes the melody and adds a rock backing track.  The choir stays and on the repeat, a reed instrument plays an improvised rendition of the melody. After this run through, the sound drops to a high-hat, catching our ears completely off-guard. It’s a clever transition to a curious outro—an active kick drum and a horn imply that something terrifying is coming. I believe it was supposed to be a siren for the final boss battle in the witch’s castle, although we hear it a few more times in the game.

The name is of more interest to us. Reader Sanaray reminded me that it references an ocean, and since “Into the Thick of It” was the field theme, a remix would make sense for water. It’s very possible that this was the intended music for a lost ship idea.
