Calm Before the Storm

Calm Before the Storm
February 28, 2021
Despite the track’s name, this is usually the calm after the storm, as it follows many boss battles. It’s regal, but with a smooth, introspective air that contrasts with Monarch on the Shore. The electric bass and exacting percussion contribute to a precise march feel. Calm Before the Storm required a record fourteen different instruments to make the tune happen. Along with Into the Thick of It and Danger, this is one of my favorites.
