Secret of Mana’s Amorphous Monsters
Secret of Mana’s Amorphous Monsters
February 18, 2022
Monsters of indeterminate form go here. Or at least in theory—for example, the Wizard Eye seems quite well defined. The developers weren’t consistent in keeping monsters true to their classification.

Square’s Description
Sticky, amorphous creatures that give off a nauseating odor from the whole body. While assimilating humans, they proliferate steadily. If you don’t finish them early, you won’t be able to touch them.
ManaRedux says…
Back Green Drops into corners. Even if your weapon isn’t at 100%, keep attacking and it will prevent them from multiplying. Or, let them multiply to your heart’s delight to gain extra EXP.

Square’s Description
Eye-catching monsters. They themselves don’t multiply, but summon Chobin Hoods one after another. In addition, they open their huge eyeballs, which are 80 cm long, and emit a laser beam. Moreover, your chance to attack is only in that moment.
ManaRedux says…
Eye Spies use Cure Water on themselves and their allies, and only have a moogle beam to offer you. Not a wholesome combination. Take them out before the other monsters on the screen.

Square’s Description
A new species of amorphous creature that evolved by taking in radioactivity from the ground. Not only do they multiply like Green Slimes, but they also summon powerful monsters. Of course, all stats are better than the original.
ManaRedux says…
The worst thing about the Red Drop is their engulfing attack, so keep your distance. Meanwhile, their high HP makes them great practice for Freeze magic.

Square’s Description
Atypical creatures that have evolved by taking in cosmic rays from the sky. They excel in movement speed, attack power, and proliferation speed. They can also create a vacuum space of absolute zero and turn a human into a snowman.
ManaRedux says…
The icy Red Drop. Fireball away.

Eye-catching monsters called from the multidimensional world by a wizard. They summon Weepy Eyes one after another, and shoot Moogle rays from their huge eyeballs. Don’t deal with the summoned monsters, make a concentrated attack and defeat them as soon as possible.
ManaRedux says…
Keep your distance and Salamando them into obvlion.

Square’s Description
Tar made by heating and decomposing coal. Black liquid creatures with evil souls. Oozing along and moaning, they repeatedly proliferate and attack their prey in groups. The harbinger of an attack is when both hands are wide open.
ManaRedux says…
Attack at a distance. Being engulfed is not a fun time and their attack power is high. They’re a great chance to practice Undine.

Square’s Description
Amorphous living beings that absorbed a particular liquid metal from another world. Not only can they multiply themselves with ease, they can freely transform into various monsters. However, these are not clones of it; once they have transformed, they can not return to their original form.
ManaRedux says…
You initially encounter the Shape Shifter in Sage Joch’s cave. At this point, your attacks will have a difficult time penetrating their defense. When encountered later, they’re not as formidable. They turn into other things, including Chaos Warlocks that will also summon other things.

Square’s Description
Originally water fairies. After being swallowed by a jellyfish affected by the madness of the moon, they became like this. While moving in the air, they cast a mysterious magic. They do not attack directly.
ManaRedux says…
Rarely a threat. The point of the Marmablue is to sap your MP, but they weren’t programmed to do this job effectively. Especially when they target Randi…

ManaRedux says…
They use Acid Storm and Energy Absorb, but aren’t too difficult to kill before they get that far.
